THE VIGNEHAUTE DIFFERENCE

“For us, it’s personal.  It’s all about bringing the winemaker and consumer closer together.”
We are passionate about independent growers, who are passionate about their wines.  Wines that express unique terroirs, wines raised with an organic / biodynamic approach to viticulture, and an artisanal approach to winemaking.  We search for the best, and make these available to you via email and online.

Producer Team at Harvest

Direct from the Domaine

VigneHaute Group wines are sourced directly from the producer – no middlemen, no extra fingers in the pie. Many of these wines are not available in the U.S. Some have caught the eye of the international wine press. Most are largely unknown outside their local areas … under the radar so to speak, yet to be discovered. All are limited production wines: If you have an interest in a particular wine, we urge you to respond quickly. Or better yet, for advance notice on new arrivals, sign up for email alerts.

A Sense of Place

VigneHaute Group specializes in wines with a sense of place, wines that express unique terroirs. These are limited production wines – often organic or biodynamic and sourced from high altitude vineyards (who said stress wasn’t a good thing?).
By definition, these wines are eclectic. Usually showing less oak, in favor of nuance, layers of flavor, minerality, and acidity. The better to showcase their origins.
For the consumer, it’s about choices, experimentation.

Provenance

“Of course he’s good looking. But, my dear, do you know his antecedents?”
In the traditional and grey markets, wines can take a circuitous route to your door, traveling through a range of storage conditions and exposures. Here in the U.S., importers typically sell to distributors, who in turn sell to restaurants or retail shops. Grey marketers may buy your wine from any source, provenance unknown (…possibly cooking on the docks or in a shop window).
Our goal is to minimize handling and exposure. Wines are shipped directly from the cellar to our warehouse – end to end – in refrigerated trucks and seaboard containers. Provenance known, integrity protected.
